As many of us in the U.S. prepare to pull up a chair at the Thanksgiving table—and even if you’re reading this from somewhere far beyond our borders—I want to take a moment to pause with you. This season has a way of inviting reflection, and every year it reminds me how grounding it can be to simply ask: What are you grateful for?
This year, that question feels especially important.
For so many organizations, 2025 has brought a mix of budget cuts, funding gaps, and shifting donor priorities. You’ve had to navigate uncertainty, recalibrate plans, and stay steady for your donors and your mission. It has not been an easy stretch, and I know many of you are carrying more on your shoulders than ever before.
And yet—there is so much to be grateful for.
At Veritus, we’re grateful for you. Truly.
You’re doing one of the hardest jobs in the non-profit world, showing up every day to build relationships, steward generosity, and hold fast to the belief that people want to make a difference. Even in a year where resources may have tightened, you’ve stayed committed to helping donors experience the joy and meaning of giving.
Because of you, we hear stories every week that remind us why this work matters:
We’re grateful for those stories. We’re grateful for the shared challenges and the shared victories. And we’re grateful for the collective impact we’re creating together in communities across the world.
Most of all, we’re grateful that you’re part of this community. You are a gift—not for what you raise, but for who you are and how you show up. Walking alongside you in this work continues to be one of our greatest privileges.
Never forget: you hold a role that changes lives. You guide people toward giving something of themselves to the world. That is rare. That is powerful. And it says something profound about the kind of person you are.
None of us get here alone. Somewhere along the way, people loved you, believed in you, and encouraged you into becoming the person who can do this work with such heart.
So today, as you take your own moment to pause, I hope you feel the gratitude coming back your way. From all of us at Veritus—thank you for what you do, thank you for who you are, and thank you for continuing to make this world a better place.
Happy Thanksgiving.
