Reviews

Veritus Line3-1

"Within the pages of this eminently readable book, major gifts fundraising becomes more than a set of strategies and tactics. It becomes almost a religion; a set of guiding beliefs and principles that become a blueprint for practicing donor-centered fundraising in such a manner it becomes uplifting for staff, volunteers and donors alike.

Fear of fundraising dies here. Joy of lifting others up to do their most important work blossoms and grows. It may even leave you choked up by the end, inspired to move ahead and put these principles into practice. Towards that end, the book is filled with relatable case examples showing the importance of a team approach, supportive leadership and a philanthropic culture.

Read it once for the gestalt. Read it again and again for the practical suggestions. It will become a go-to reference for your fundraising library. No word is wasted; I was hooked from beginning to end."

"It's Not JUST About the Donor is a book about my favorite thing, and what I deeply wish for more of in our world right now – empathy.

In it, Richard and Jeff outline a way of approaching fundraising that isn't about getting big gifts from wealthy people but instead seeing fundraising as a deeply sacred practice of listening, asking meaningful questions, and facilitating the change donors wish to create in the world through your organization.

This way of approaching fundraising not only creates meaning for the donor, but for the fundraiser themselves."

The Veritus Way: "life saving for our organization"

Veritus Line3

I'm writing to thank you again, because I have studiously applied The Veritus Way to a much larger team than I had ever worked with, in an organization with a $30M annual fundraising goal, and the results proved life-saving for our organization.

Apart from reorganizing our operations team, all the things I did I learned from you, with your stack of White Papers right on the desk, well-annotated and highlighted and dog-eared. I'm writing this letter not to brag, but in all humility to thank you for teaching me almost everything I know and making our fundraising success possible.
