Yesterday, like many of you if you live in the United States, I celebrated Thanksgiving with some of my family and friends. It was a wonderful day. Thanksgiving Day helps me pause and think about what I’m grateful for. This year, it dawned on me that Jeff and I probably haven’t done enough to thank YOU.
And while we thank you for reading or subscribing to our blog and other resources, that is small in comparison for what you do to make the world a better place to live. Quite frankly, Jeff and I get up every day excited that we get to change the world… but that only happens because of the work YOU do.
You are on the front lines working hard to be that bridge between the donor and the incredible need in our world. Whether you are alleviating the suffering of people, animals or the planet – without the hard work you do every day, none of it would be possible.
Jeff and I believe you are the unsung hero of philanthropy. Whenever a great gift is made, the focus is on the donor and the organization that is receiving the gift. There is never a mention of the fundraiser behind the scenes who is bringing that donor and the need together.
And that is the way it should be. But Jeff and I wanted you to know that WE know it would not happen without you.
We hope that our Passionate Giving Blog has been helpful to you, whether you are new or have been with us for many years. It is with great awe and humility that Jeff and I get to walk with you on this journey.
We know that the period between now and the end of the year will be quite stressful for you. You have a lot of thanking and asking to do! It’s hard work, but we appreciate your effort, skill, and passion to work with donors to help them find joy in their life.
Again, we are grateful for all you are doing to help change the world. Jeff and I are so fortunate that you are part of the Veritus Group family.
Thank you!
Richard and Jeff
