Transformational gifts are significant sums for the donor and the organization, and they happen only occasionally. MGOs who find that ability in their donor caseloads can plan and execute an effective strategy.
There is only ONE thing you need to do to get yourself and your organization started down a path toward building a culture of philanthropy. Just ask the question: “Where’s the Donor?” in every situation you are in.
Pledges are good. We don’t have anything against them. It is really good to have a donor commit to future giving. Our only concern is about WHEN to credit the pledge.
There are some very good hidden donors in your caseload. Look for them.
