MGOs Leave If They Have Nothing to Offer Donors
Some major gift fundraisers don’t have enough to present to donors. If you maintain a culture where the MGO cannot be successful, then expect the MGO to leave.

Many major donors aren’t aware of everything your non-profit does in fulfillment of its mission. Make sure they (and you!) know.
You should start a major gifts program because you have donors who would give more if they were cultivated and stewarded properly, and because major gifts is one of the most cost-effective fundraising strategies there is.
If we are going to be obsessed with waste and excess, let’s look at the charity’s whole picture, not just one half. The emphasis should be on impact, not on this silly preoccupation with overhead.
Major donors want to make an impact with something they have a passion for. This is why you need to package your entire budget into the different projects and programs you have going on, as you work to change the world.
Often, we just can’t find the one central issue that the non-profit is seeking donors’ funds to address. It’s no wonder that many MGOs struggle to create offers for their donors.
